In Loving Memory
of Bertha Crawler
1938-2003

If I had all the world to give,
I’d give it, yes, and more,
To hear her voice and see her smile
And greet her at the door.
But all I can do, dear mother,
Is go and tend your grave,
And leave behind tokens of love
To the best mother God ever made.
I like to think, when life is done,
Wherever heaven may be,
That she’ll be standing at the door
Up there to welcome me.

The Board of Directors and staff of the National Indian and Inuit Community Health Representatives Organization wish to send their heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Bertha Crawler, born in Morley, Alberta on May 5, 1938, who passed away on March 12, 2003 in Canmore, Alberta at the age of 64. NIICHRO would also like to take this opportunity to express appreciation for Bertha’s many years of dedicated service towards the betterment of health for Native people in her role as a Community Health Representative.

Our sincere condolences are extended to former NIICHRO President, Oliver Okemow and his family on the loss of a son, nephew, husband and father, Billy McKay of the Manto Sipi Cree Nation.

Heartfelt sympathy is offered to Rachel Ermineskin, NIICHRO Board Member, on the tragic passing of her young granddaughter in July 2003.
